Time is costly,

with a short expiration date.

Minding others’ business

comes in a currency I care not to own.

I can’t afford fear,

or the price of criticism.

Regret costs more

than I have to give.

I live on a budget,

need no more than

to love, learn, grow,

to empathize, and go with my flow.

So when time cashes me out,

I’ll leave not a cent behind.

How will you be spent?
