have you ever had your heart broken

cornerstone start of your life

this must be false

heart

ripped in two

barely a pulse

no man has caused me such pain

never has

never will

heartbroken as a child

a

lifetime

to

refill

they say love is blind

I believe so

but only as a child

heart

truly free and wild

they broke my heart

struggling a lifetime

self hatred

break the mirror

end it all

words

creeping nearer

today I smile back at that pain

too close to the deep end

now

I

laugh

dance

in

the

rain

heart broken

but they couldn't break my will

45 years

revived

her

born

a

survivor
